I will ship but would prefer to not ship. By locating the serial number, you can begin your research to know the value of the piano. It is usually not necessary to remove the upper front panel to find the serial number (as in this picture).

This bass needs to be in the hands of someone who will play it and not hoarded away in my collection. I thought about doing it myself as I am a woodworker and guitar maker, but I wanted the lineage of the repairs to match the lineage of the instrument, so I had my professionally trained friend do it instead. In the restoration process, a new ebony fingerboard and adjustable maple bridge were installed and Mike painstakingly went through every chip and crack, repairing them in the best, traditional ways. The label on the inside says it was made by Josef Novotny and imported to the US by Wurlitzer (see pic). The bass is a fully carved, 3/4 scale Czech flatback made in 1927. I was always too afraid to take it to gigs and have only used it at home and on a few studio sessions. And honestly it has barely been played since. For the first 20 years, they built a nice selection of Square Grand Pianos before building their first upright pianos in 1870. I bought this bass in rough condition and had it fully and professionally restored about 10 years ago by master bass luthier Mike Asetta.
